I'm so excited about these! Technically these could even be called ATC's, but I'm posting them here. Cheesy

Here's the story: there are four of us who like to play cards. Euchre, in fact. If you haven't heard of it or have never played, a.) it's a blast-- go learn it, and b.) SERIOUSLY, GO LEARN!! Shocked)

The game is played with a regular deck of cards, using only 9s-Aces. Our friend who taught us the game and instilled in our group a passionate love for the game is moving away tomorrow  Cry so my friend and I made him his OWN Euchre deck to remind him of US, using our faces and inside jokes!

By the way, the deck we usually play with is a German deck (since Euchre is apparently a German game), so it's a bit confusing: the JACKS, which are the highest card in this game, are the B's (Bauer). The Kings are still K (Konig? I'm horrible with German), and the queens are D's (Dama).  Okay! PICTURES!!

The whole deck

These are the amazing dogs that live in the house we usually play in. They are such characters, they demanded to be the highest cards in the game.

The Kings... the two guys. We have a judge-wigged, mole-sporting, pipe-smoking king, a bemonocled, bushy-moustachioed, bowler-hatted King, a gangsta King, and Abraham Lincoln.

The queens... my friend and me. Fu manchu Chinese Man queen, excessively giant ring queen, bushy facial hair man queen, and ... masquerade queen eating a turkey leg. It might be a liiiiittle obvious we were running out of ideas.

The aces: just some little things that are funny or AWESOME to our group. Sushi, a bike horn, pictures from The Office (holy crap, the best show EVER), and a stapler in jello from said best show ever.

Just a shot of the hand-cut, hand-drawn, laminated cards and backs:

Can you tell I'm super proud of these?! We played tonight (he LOVED THEM, by the way!!!) and they are hilarious to use! Grin

What a great idea!  I played euchre all the time when I lived in MI.  I bet my friends would LOVE a cool homemade euchre deck.  I may have to make some for the holidays....

Euchre? You must a) live in Michigan, b) be from Michigan, or c) spend a lot of time in Michigan.. lol, I had never heard of that game until I moved here. Still don't know how to play (the few times my friends have tried to teach me, we've all been a little too drunk, hah).

ANYWAY- not the point. The point IS that even though I'm not a huge fan of card games, this is like, the coolest thing. What an awesome idea! Pretty much anything is better when personalized- especially with funny pictures and inside jokes and pretty colors.

I'm just in awe. They are so great!

Thanks, everyone!! I knew Euchre was a midwest-ish game. As a matter of fact, the guy who taught us this game (the new owner of these cards) is from Michigan!! Haha!  Grin
