Hi all

I was lucky enough to get a roll of freezer paper and some inks this christmas, and have found a new favourite craft.

Thanks go to Urban Threads for her fab pirate ship tutorial which convinced me to try stenciling.

The Nietzsche shirt is for my other half, and is the most complicated stencil I've done so far. I made the stencil from a photo. (if anyone wants a copy of the stencil, I'm happy to post it here)

The swallow shirt is for me and was my second stencil.

Thanks for looking

Does the shirt have to be 100% cotton?  or can it be poly cotton?  Would love to know because my local store ALWAYS has cheap shirts on sale and I think they are a poly cotton blend!
Thanks!  Oh ..and GREAT job.. I want to make a shakespeare shirt if i ever find this freezer paper in toronto cana ;)da!

I live on the East Coast of Canada, and I found freezer paper at the local SuperStore which I think is Loblaws in your neck of the woods. It's HUGE, but it's just Reynold's brand. I found it in the row with the plastic wrap. If I can find it in small-town NS I'm sure you can find it in T.O.

I don't have the faintest idea  Undecided
I've just checked the label of everything I've stenciled so far and they've all been cotton- but this is pure chance as I've been picking things that are in colours and shapes I like, and where I can find it, fair trade too.

What would the problem be with poly cotton? Are you thinking ironing problems?

Loblaws!  Wow.. I will have to check it out!  Thanks!
About the poly/cotton question. I was worried it wouldnt adhere properly or something. I am SO new to this.  What the heck.. my local store has shirts 3 for 10 bucks.. and they are 95% cotton with 5% spandex! I may give it a shot!  Grin
