I made a book for a friend.

We'd spent a week together talking about how hard it is to like yourself, because you know every bad thing you've ever done. But we believe that it's important to love yourself, so that you can love others.

So I made a book of promises, to read through when you're not thinking straight.

To reinforce how loved we are.

I got the book from my brother who applied for the civil service. It's designed to look like a passport.

I stuck backgrounds on each page (it had 16 sides) from old Howies catalogue, because it's really good quality paper - that pleases me Smiley

Then I wrote verses on tracing paper...

...and coloured in the important ones

I ordered the verses so it reads like a poem of your life

And sewed down the side

I originally wanted to be able to life up the tracing paper, but it was temperamental

So I glued flowers (it's actually confetti from Paperchase) to keep the tracing paper from flapping around.

This is a really touching gift for your friend.  You are a very good friend to do this for them and I hope they gain a lot of joy and fulfilment from it.  Well done!
