i really liked princessfashionista's "honey skirt"http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=265221.10

so i decided to make one! i had a ton of green jersey and do i really need another infinity dress? ...well, maybe i do. but not today. today i need a high-waisted skirt. i wanted a really wide waistband but i didn't have 3 in elastic which would've been what i neeeded..so i got to modifying. i made 2 seams in the waistband creating 3 channels. i put the elastic in the bottom channel, then the middle and then i noticed the lovely ruffle-ing happening to the top of the waistband and decided to leave it as is instead of putting more elastic in. i dig it. and i had been eyeing the paperbag waist skirt on burdastyle for awhile now, so i'm happy to have stumbled on a version of it by accident Smiley  it's not perfect (it's also not hemmed) but i like it. i wore it out today right off the sewing machine, lol.
NOTE: please excuse my crappy phone camera pics. my digital was stolen (stealers suck!) and i haven't replaced it yet. all my extra income seems to go towards my fabric hoarding hobby....lol

here's a few pics including a closeup shot of the waistband. that's also prob the pic truest to color.  the skirt is a bright grass green.

comments/critiques/upgrades always appreciated!!!
and THANKS to for the inspiration princessfashionista!!!

Oh. This is super cute! I love the waist detail. It would look so great with a narrow belt and boots!

It's gorgeous and I adore green. Very unusual waistline, I love it and you wear it so well  Smiley

thanks for the tip! it's not boot weather yet where i live, but boots would make it transition from a summer skirt to a fall skirt really well. Smiley
