I had full intentions of entering... then I got some devastating news for a felter. My new Siamese kitten is a "wool sucker." After eating about a two cups of my roving, and half a wool sock last weekend I've been ordered by his doctor to have no more wool around him for a year!  Sad

I guess I need to find another hobby.

Oh No! The lack of entries really make me sad. I hope people are still felting, just not taking the time to post. I would like to have future challenges still. (although I now have to felt in a locked room while my kitten yells at me from outside Smiley )

I'm new around here, however I think "challenges" sound like a lot of fun. I feel like challenges and the like push some people to get out their supplies when they could easily just leave them tucked away. And who doesn't like having a theme to work from, and seeing everyone else's wonderful ideas??? I'd like to see a challenge start up again.

Great!
I'll keep in mind what I've learnt from the previous one, and I think I might start up a new one in mid January.
Keep an eye out for the new thread  Smiley

I would be down for a felting challenge... althought flowers aren't really my thing and I suck at wetfelting.  So if needlefelting would be an option, count me in!

Yup, I want the challenges to allow for both types of felters - needle and wet

I got a random idea last night that maybe a future challenge could be for "manly" felting.  I feel like if I could get inspired to make my hubby something, he might be more forgiving of the roving laying on the family room floor.

My other thought was food.  This is totally selfish, too, as I want to make my niece fake food for Christmas (yes, in '09) and would love to copy be inspired by all of your wonderful ideas.

FUNNY FOOD SIDE NOTE:  so I was working with some brown fulled wool while eating a yummy ice cream chocolate chip cookie sandwich from the Schwan's man.  Wasn't really paying attention and dropped a cookie piece in my lap.  I picked it up and popped it in my mouth.  Oh, wait, that wasn't a chocolate chip cookie, it was wool.  At least it was natural, right?  (I spit it out, don't worry!)
