Bottle Cap Table

Been working on this table for a long time, and was wondering if anyone has experience with epoxy resins and can tell me the best way to cover these caps with epoxy.

Here is the Table:



It's 8x3 feet and has just over 3,400 caps. I really dont want to mess up pouring the epoxy so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I toyed with casting resin once or twice and it didn't seem too difficult. My suggestion would be to try a few small projects first, just to get the hang of it. You certainly wouldn't want to mess up something you have spent so much time on. Something that big I would imagine you would have to pour in a series of thin layers.
Just one question, what is the brown and gold bit to the left of the flag?

I'm guessing it's a beer pong table and that's where you put the cups

I haven't done anything that large so my only advice is to make sure the caps are washed of beer residue and dried well. I had some start to rust on me with another project and while it gave it an "old/rustic" look that I was actually going for, it would suck with something as pretty as your table.

if your using it as a beer pong table then you have to make sure that all the caps stay flat when you pour the resin. you don't want bumps on your table ruining your game! lol maybe try glueing them down first?
