Since this is one swap where you definitely DON'T have to wait until you have partners to buy supplies, I was gonna mention the Joann's ad I was just looking at! This is good through Sat, Sept 6

40% off sheer and crepe back satin
30% off brocades and sari fabrics

and this friday through monday, for Labor day sale
50% off notions wall
50% off purse handles

also besides the regular 40% off coupons the flyer has a 10% off your entire order coupon! (for the labor day weekend)

I sent my info in!
I'm going to put a link to this swap in my signature Smiley

I'm always jealous when people talk about Joann's - there are no shops like that over here.

Hey Fiber People: I am very interested in personal swaps for painted/dyed roving or top. I can swap supplies or crafted items. Let's talk!

Hey all, I've been glancing at some random purse patterns I have and realize that 1/2 yd of fabric may very well not be enough, so I have added in the send out directions that it is strongly advised to send 3/4 to 1 yd. Remember your parnter will be limited by what you send! If you want a large purse but don't send enough fabric then it's kinda your fault.  I would advise people to look at patterns of purse styles you like just to get an idea of how much yardage is called for. I'm totally one of those people that always buys too much fabric...but you only have to buy too little once! And when it's fabric you truly love, you like having the extra! And remember any extra will be sent back to you.

Also I am adding in an optional sendout for fabric lining, sometimes a neat contrasting lining can make the purse (in addition to the optional item you can send out in number 7)!

An addition to the sign-up sheet is just a question about sewing skill level, you can just put beginner, intermediate, advanced. Or, something like: can follow basic patterns (me) or makes wedding dresses on consignment (my friend at work!!!)

I don't think I've mentioned this, but to keep shipping costs down, except for allergies and skill level I am mostly going to try and pair people up with whoever lives closest because of the two sendouts.

I'm #3 on the front page now.

We miss Felix around here, but I'm glad he's getting to see the world Smiley

I'm looking forward to making someone else's bag - using different fabrics and shapes to my comfort zone, it should be great!

I just had the BEST time at Joann's! I used like 5 coupons and saved a ton of money!  I found some really fun fabric to go with one I had, plus awesome trims and whatnot. I still haven't filled the "something fancy" requirement...I am thinking of hitting up Goodwill for brooches or something!  I am probably 85% ready for the first sendout! (that's the best thing about this swap, IMO, you don't have to wait for partners to start shopping!)

Me and Kenners are both in the UK Smiley

I found some fabric in a charity shop today that I love but don't know what to do with - I may be sending that!

Yay for UK craftsters, and eBay! I've just spent a small fortune on trim for the Bellydance swap. I love it.
