So named because it's a Christmas gift for my friend Carrie!
I made up the pattern as I went along, which I'm partial to doing.  This is the first bag I've tried to make, so although it's a little...bulky...I'm happy with it.  I want to add something to the outside, like a pin or something.  It needs something, am I right?

The yarn is Moda Dea Cartwheel in Coral Reef.  I used a basketweave stitch for the body with some garter right at the top.  The handles are also garter stitch, but knit on size 6 needles instead of 8 like the body of the bag.  It's hard to see the pattern in these photos, sorry!!

Here's a photo of it inside out.  You can see the lining, which I love!  I hand-sewed that on using the yarn so it's not visible on the outside of the bag.

And here's a close-up of the top of the lining.  I stitched an i-cord all the way around to hide the top of the lining and to add a little detail and support.  My first time making an i-cord also -- how super easy is that!!!

Any comments or critiques would be great!

I"m not a knitter, but I think it looks lovely.  You're friend is extremely lucky to have someone like you to make her gifts!

If it needs "something else," you could make a little flower out of the bag lining (assuming you've got fabric left ^^) and pin it to the base of the handle, perhaps...

edit--whoops, sorry-- forgot to log my sister off. This is actually Patsee.
