So I had a pair of cropped jeans from CostCo that were too small for me, and about a year ago I made them into a skirt. It fit really cute out of sheer luck, since I didn't try to shape it at all, and I wear it all the time. But I noticed last time I wore it that the seams were giving, causing little holes. So I thought to patch it, which I did, on the inside, and then thought that since I loved the look of appliquéd stuff I should try it, since I was going to toss the skirt anyway if it went wrong. I have a ton of fabric scraps, so I went to town! Pics:

Skirt modeled by ottoman, front:

I pieced out the appliques and then used iron-on interfacing to stabilize them before I used a zigzag stitch to put them on the skirt. I also used some of my machine's embroidery stitches in green by the flowers as grass but it's not really visible.

A very important message, this year especially!

I'm glad to be getting some more time out of this skirt, and applique has become a new obsession, muahaha!
