Have you tried Favorite Fabrics? They have their fabrics organized by manufacturer, or color or theme, and there's a search box, too. They have a good selection of holiday fabrics (any time of year!) as well as some really fun novelties, like junk food fabric, lots of animal fabrics, nature and northwoods, beach themes, "pink ribbon fabrics", etc. They've always given me good customer service and prompt shipping. They ship internationally, too. http://www.favoritefabric.com

I have just discovered thunderlily.com, it is several vendors under one roof so it's a bit like shopping in boutique stores in a fashion district. Some vendors give free samples too, but I find the pictures are of a very high quality, so you can really see the detail of the fabric.
They have some free patterns too and instructions for how to create your own designs.

Hi guys!

I just wanted to invite you to join my fabric co-op. You can buy designer fabrics at my whole cost. I'm not making a profit or anything!

If you'd like to join us the web address is

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/thefabriccoop/

We have a FreeSpirit order ending next week. We're getting Tina Givens, Amy Butler and Tonya Wylan just to name a few!
Do you need an invite to that group or something?  When went to the page, it said members only..

It may sound basic but the easy way, at least on-line is always Google it.  When you do you have to be very specific or you will waste your time.  If for instance you want lace curtains and you Google "lace" you will be no where near finding the sites that you want to see.  Of course, you will get a site or two for lace curtains but you will get lace garters, lace Irish, lace underwear, shoe laces and even some porno sites.  If you want lace curtains that is what you search on.  If you want lace curtain yardage or macrame ring lace curtains or lace valances you will be even more successful because those are all lace curtains but are much more specific.  Then there is the matter of comparing prices at the sites you have found but that is another story.

I recently discovered this place: http://www.catherinesplace.com.au/index1.html
The customer service is GREAT. And free shipping for orders over $40 in Australia. It's not just fabric, though, she sells haberdashery too.

Leftovers, Etc. is a great resource for vintage fabric! You can buy 5lb. of fabric at their ebay store for only $7! Here is a link to their ebay store: http://cgi.ebay.com/Fabrics-various-types-colors-and-patterns-/320383714253?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4a985b83cd.
