Thanks you guys...
Nice. I love the checked handles. How well does the screen hold up? is it incredibly strong? Maybe I will try this,I have been working on some bags lately, and I love how lightweight this must be
I don't know yet how well it's going to hold up. It's the first one I've made. But when I cut into it I could see that there were some strong looking fibers inside the outer black part that look like nylon. Other than that before I use it I need to go back and add a row of stitching to the main seams to reinforce them. I'll be happy to keep you posted on how it holds up.
It is practically weightless, yes, and yet it holds it's shape as well. I was even thinking of the bag person when I designed it.
I read an article somewhere a while back that said that there was definitive proof that the oil lines in Alaska are actually good for the enviroment up there. The wildlife love them. Oil company's have been building roads of ICE to get to the rigs, so that they won't destroy anything. I can't remember all of the neat facts as my mind is taken up with translating toddler to English and a million other neccessary facts, sorry
But thanks for making this bag. I dig it!
You're welcome. I've heard the same kinds of stories. My understanding is that the area is very desolate and I believe it's the caribou they were probably refering to. The warmth coming from the pipeline aided in their survival and the herds flourished. I have no firsthand knowlege of this of course but I tend to believe it because it makes sense.
The only thing about oil is that there isn't an endless supply. What are we going to do when the oil wells run dry?
I love this bag, though. It looks so sturdy!
Chimunculus, I am not a scientist so I can't answer that. But I have been hearing as of late that the US has more oil under it's surface than any other country including Saudi Arabia. I don't know if it's true but if it is then I don't think we have anything to worry about. Those who do not want us to drill for any oil use that and many other arguments to keep us from drilling here.
My whole point in making this statement is to say... get facts from different
sources and don't rely on information from just one side of any issue, including and especially this one, before you make up your mind. Otherwise you are letting someone else make it up for you. If you use common sense you can't be bamboozled.
Thanks for all the compliments guys. When I get the other two made I'll post them. I have some other stuff to do in the meantime.
