it seems like it should be ok. the only "vulnerable" areas would be the very sides of the envelopes

i made a couple using rubber cement as the glue. it's slightly discolored, but hard to notice until you really look at it. the regular glue stick isn't sticking for me. My only worry is the strength or the wrapping paper. mine's a bit thin and i was thinking of somehow lining it with regular white paper to strengthen it.

I take some clear tape and put it over the seams as extra insurance.  That should cover it.. I have thought about sewing them, as suggested, but just too lazy to change the machine over to a regular sewing machine~ Grin

A little packing tape should take care of those spots.

I found some awesome thick wrapping paper at the dollar store, but if you can't find anything thick, lining it with a sheet of paper in between the bubble wrap and the gift wrap helps. If I am worried about it, I also reinforce all the folds from the inside of the envelope with clear packaging tape (this way the outside doesn't look like it has been attacked with clear tape!)

I really like the idea. The tutorial is fantastic. I have to send out some birthday gifts, so I'll try making the mailers.

I never thought to make my own bubble mailers.  Now I can make pretty ones.  Thank you!
