I adore my public library, where I found yesterday this book:

http://www.amazon.com/Stupid-Sock-Creatures-Lovable-Cast-off/dp/1579906109/ref=cm_cmu_pg_t

and I HAD to try my hands at this!   (You all know this urge!) So here's Adalbert:

Thanks for looking!

I have that book, and your Adalbert looks so great!

Aren't they addicting? I've made... like, eight, in like three weeks. It's amazing. Smiley

Great work!

I've been wondering what other things you can make from socks...Sock monkeys are too common.
Nice work!

Thanks  Elensule!  Do you have pics of yours?

I'm planning another one, for a delicious 4years old, and my twin sister is making one today...  Addictive, as you say!

I need to GET pictures... I have some but they are on my BROTHER'S camera, which makes them useless to me. I wonder if my mom can find them for me... hmm... There's one on the Summer Reading Swap Gallery that I made... Of course, I don't know the link off hand, but searching Sock Monster should find it. xD

I made one for me, one for each of my two youngest sisters, one for a friend who took classes all summer (She's a physician's Assistant major) and had finals like, a week before school started, one for my Big sister in my sorority, one for a favorite cousin of mine, and I have one 3/4 done in my craft box for another friend... xD They're crazy fun! I even got my BROTHER doing them!

If I can get my pics, I will certainly post them. Keep up the awesome work!

He's simply great.  Grin  How many socks did you need to make him?

Thank you Tailte!  I use 1 pair of socks (one sock for the head and body, the other for arms and legs), plus 2 odd gloves for the hat, plus one finger of another glove for the tongue

I have that book too!! They are quite addictive. I've made quite a few and I'm always buying socks yet never have any to put on my feet. I've made sock monkeys for years...so this was a fun change. I don't have any pictures right now....but I'm about to make a bunch more for a charity craft sale at the hospital I work in.

My cat even has her own that I made from one sock and left featureless. (No buttons to come off and be swallowed.)
