Details of swap:
To help us celebrate the season of Halloween, All Souls Day, and Day of the Dead, for this swap we will be creating small art dolls or other figures that are approximately in the 3"-6" size range.  The theme is creepy, mysterious, dark, otherworldly, ghostly, creepy-cute, just plain offbeat, or otherwise in the "spirit" of the season.    Think zombies, skullies, ghosts, spirits, human/animal hybrids, human/robot hybrids, human/animal/robot/zombie/creepy cupcakes hybrids... 

Use of any and all materials is encouraged! Cloth, sculpting, modeling, altering or assembling, or mixed-media, as long as the end result is in the 3"-6" size range.  You may state your preference as to where you draw the line in terms of certain types of "dark" not being acceptable - for instance, if you definitely do not appreciate dead or maimed babies, or chainsaw horror, but do love creatures that are half human and half animal, or pale, wandering, long-haired ladies endlessly searching for their lost lovers, make sure you speak up when you sign up!

Please check out all of the links below to see a wide range of excellent examples of dolls and figures.  We will be limited only by our imaginations in terms of types of dolls/figures created and materials used!

SIZE REQUIREMENTS: You will be making ONE "mini art doll/figure" for EACH of your swap partners! You will in turn receive one from each of your partners.  YOU MAY BE MATCHED WITH ONE OR MORE SWAP PARTNERS, depending on your preference and the number of participants.

Every effort will be made to match swappers up in groups of your preferred size range.  You will not be put in a group that is larger than your maximum desired group size.  Some swappers may prefer to make only one or two dolls/figures and some swappers may prefer to swap up to 5 or 6 dolls/figures.


You will be expected to check in to the swap thread or gallery once a week so that we know you are alive and crafting!

You will be expected to get a delivery confirmation number when you send your package, if mailing in your country, or to save your mailing receipt if you can't get a delivery confirmation number.  You will also be expected to pm your partner and your organizer when you send and when you receive!  These are essential to receiving "good communication" on your feedback!

I've ordered one or two body parts, and shall get busy in my lab making more parts.  I really don't have much of a plan right now, but I'm sure inspiration will hit sooner or later.

Well as we know, good communication is key to a happy swapping experience! 

I'm thrilled to be organizing my first swap!   I love the "dotee dolls" and just did two back to back swaps of them -and will do more eventually - but I figured this swap will coincide with the perfect time of year to balance out the liberal dose of super-sweet cuteness that resulted.       Then after this swap I'll probably be ready to go back to the Cute Side again.  Gotta do my part to keep that balance in the universe you know.
