Well, I'm on an applique kick lately thanks to a lot of you Craftsters!  I decided to use applique to make a special birthday outfit for one of my nieces who is turning 2.  I used the Grand Revival tutorial for the skirt (http://grandrevivaldesign.typepad.com/photos/ruffled_skirts_tutorial/index.html) and directions from Jayneysews for the applique process (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=226296.0).  The froggy fabric is from Hancock's and the dots from Wal-Mart.  What do you think?   Smiley

Everyone cross your fingers that it fits!   Wink

That is so cute!! The fabrics are terrific together -- that skirt is fun!! Also, I love the font you used for the "2" - or was that freehand?

Adoreable and she will be so pleased we she realizes you made it just for her!!

May our efforts reflect our values.

Thanks for the compliments!  I hope she likes it.  She's several states away, so we won't get to see her face when she sees it.    Undecided

Quiltersblock, the font was Microsoft Word's "Bodoni something-or-other"(I don't think that's the official name.  Smiley)  I also liked the font called "Jokerman."

very sweet outfit!! makes sure someone has a video camera for when she opens it so you may not see her reaction right away, but you will at some point. i too use the computer to print of words and shapes and things as stencils for numerous projects. my fingers are crossed she fits it!! (if she's having a party try get it to her sooner with a note to her mum saying it's ok she opens it, so she can wear it for everyone to see at the party Wink )

Hey, thanks for the compliments!  I talked to my sister-in-law after she got the package and she gushed over the outfit.  I don't know whether it fit or not, but at least they loved it!!   Tongue
