My dad has a kindle, and that god-awful cover that came with it...
I'm a pretty good seamstress - but I'm at a loss of how to craft a cover for his kindle for a christmas present.  Any ideas??

maybe you could make a cover that looks like a book? Like a classic such as Moby Dick or maybe a funny DIY title, like ....oh I dunno! But since it's for reading books electronically, I thought it would be clever to make the cover look like a book.....

I LOVE my Kindle and I HATE the cover.
I've seen a few custom made covers but none that I've really liked.

This one's pretty simple, i think it's uses the original cover and just puts a jacket over it.

I also saw one where someone made a cover to look like a real book:

I think using the original cover and modifying it is probably the best way to go.
you could take off the rubber band add a clasp or button or magnet.

I'm looking forward to see what you come up with!

Those covers are really cute!  Little hint, though:  do NOT put a magnet in your cover.  Magnets + electronics = unhappy camper.  A ribbon tie would be really nice, though.
