I decided to start this thread where we can all post tasty sandwich combos. All because of this fabulous sandwich I made today:

Tofurkey (hickory smoked slices), avocado, and dijon mustard (on light wheat bread).

(I'm a vegetarian currently on a 30-day cheese fast, and avocado is like the cheese of the veggie kingdom!)

Post your tasty and creative combos here, and make them stand out so they can be seen easily.

I recently created a delish Cheesy Cucumber and Apple Sandwich Cheesy, the "how-to" for which can be found here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=264096.msg2965051#msg2965051

Don't be afraid of it. I know it sounds a bit wacky, but trust me - it's really good.

Not particularly exciting but I've always loved cheese and sweetcorn toasties.. (:
I didn't have vegan cheese for about a month or two after I became vegan and before that I kept eating salt and vinegar crisp toasties! xD

I also like grated carrot with bits of cucumber, tomato and sweetcorn (hehe, I'm a major sweetcorn junkie) in pitta bread halves

I like this thread (:

Tomato, fresh basil leaf, and the best mozzarella that you can afford on a crusty roll with a little balsamic vinegar sprinkled on the bread....DELICIOUS.

I like, JUST had a tomato-basil-mozz sandwich exactly like the one described above!  It was delish.  How about this one: Hummus, cheddar, lettuce and tomato on soft wheat bread.  Or on a tortilla or wrap or anything, really.  Yummy!

Swiss cheese, thinly sliced red onion, thinly sliced Granny Smith apple, and Dijon mustard on rye bread -- best grilled cheese sandwich ever!

My personal favorite is the 'ol avocado sandwich. Half an avocado with salt and pepper and shredded cheddar cheese (freshly shredded, mind you. none of that waxy stuff).... nom! Simple, but that's how i like it.  Smiley

I also like doing a vegetarian philly. sauteed mushrooms, onions, and swiss cheese on a sub bun. SO unhealthy!

Also, celebration roast from whole foods makes a great "cold-cut" sandwich.

Must try that tomato basil one, too!

I just ate an absolutely delicious sandwich. I put the bread in the frying pan first and melted cheese onto it, then added avocado, more cheese, and pesto.

i like bar-b-que tofu sandwiches best!!
season slices of tofu with chili pepper, salt, curry and turmeric. Pan fry until crispy. Add barbque sauce and heat for another few minutes.
make a yummy sandwich with avocado, tomato, lettuce, mustard on toasted bread!! Mmmmm.
