A few days ago my neighbours were moving out and brought this sad little bench to the curb.  Being the ultimate garbage picker, I grabbed the dog and ran down the street to bring the bench home.  Of course I forgot to take 'before' pics but I assure you, the fabric was dingy and worn.  I had been saving this purple stretch velvet that I had gotten on sale for something and I just knew it had to go on this bench.  It's my first attempt at reupholstering anything and am rather pleased with the way it came out...

In progress with help from my cats...

So five million staples later...I have a bench!

Anything less than extraordinary is a waste of my time! (Dream for an Insomniac)

I love it! That bench looks fantastic in purple velvet!  I have that same purple velvet, and I'm going to use it to make a canopy for my bed.

i love it! such a great idea... makes me wanna do stuff like that to my old furniture.. which i did, once... i covered my boyfriends coffeetable with green felt to look like a poker table (we use it for poker every week)..... and that black kitty looks like MY new kitty! she was rescued from the curb when my neighbors moved out, as well. meanies just left her in the road Sad

Wow!  It turned out great, and it certainly has your kitties seal of approval.

I like the purple. very sexy.  That's one of those projects that would inspire me to redo my entire room.
