That was an ambitious project, rectangle, and beautifully done!  Did you draw the design?

The juke box was a coloring book design and the dancers I redrew from some grainy clip art and then I sketched in the floor, the sign and the chair rail.  When I'm doing a combined design I always lay it out in corel draw to get the scale a little better...scale is also my biggest problem when it come to drawing people too so I like to have so stand-ins (clipart) that I can draw over top of so that they don't end up with really long arms or really big heads.  Small faces are very frustrating as the detail never translates as well.

Mitch O'Connell has a design that Maramara stitched for me some time ago but I always thought the people looked funny in the original as they seemed to float off the ground but that might be where the inspiration started.

rectangel, I think it looks incredible! I love the design, and you used the metallic floss really well. The clothes are wonderful! And I think the colors look just fine, too. Smiley

Here's the latest design on sew~amy's bird/sewing-themed tea towel:

and the entire towel:

The two birds came from a Dover Indian design book and the butterfly is from a Dover Japanese design book.  The thread and needles are additions from me to tie them into the sewing theme.

It's off to Katchoo1 for the final design!

Wow Everyone! You're all doing such great work!

~Glenda - sonjabegonia's towel is ssooooo sweet. I love all your fill stitches
Antarcticrafts - cupcakeguru's fall theme is coming along beautifuly, I love your stitching
BrookOwens - WOW! Excellent detail! Atalla is stunning
Sewphie - your contribution to UrsulaDiamon's towel is perfection! What detailed work, I love your colours
Rectangel - so cute! I love the diner name! You never disappoint! the metallic thread is awesome - woo hoo! I was waiting (dying) to see what you were going to do on my towel.
Sonjabegonia - your birds are awesome!

And now, here is my work on BrookOwen's towel which is a pin-up + your state/province represented. We have the province of British Columbia with a french know marking the capital, a rainbow trout for fishing, trees and logging represented and our provincial flower-the dogwood. Our slogan is in the banner across her hips. Brook, I hope you like it! This one was difficult for me, in fact I removed the banner twice - don't you just love unpicking stitches? (not complaining Brook). I found the weave on this towel to be a bit loose so I really had to watch how I pulled the thread and to use big big big knots especially for single strands. I'm mailing it today to 1boy1girl1kitty2.

Here's the whole towel, folded to condense space:

Detail of the pin-up:

Edited to add: I forgot to say that the pin-up is and banner outline are from a Sailor Jerry stencil book, and the province was from the internet, the fish was from a tattoo site and the rest was original artwork.
