Thanks y'all!  I just love looking at everyone's work.  The pumpkin/vine is awesome and I lovelovelove what's going on with Ursula's towel (but secretly glad I'm not in that group cuz I'd be intimidated at the thought of working on it!)  I love seeing how everyone's towels are developing just as much as I love seeing what's going on with my towel, and adding my bits to everyone else's.

On the topic of my transfer mishap, I was very nervous about the alcohol or bleach pen option because either accidentally getting on the existing embroidery and messing it up, and also fearful that it would leave a "bleached spot" that was whiter than the rest on the fabric.  For those who have tried these techniques, is that a problem?

For the record, my fallback option was to do a LOT of fill-in stitching on the sun face and probably running late, so I'm really glad that didnt happen.

timpani~jax: Your blackwork design is striking. Its giving me the itch to try blackwork (or redwork). The design works quite well with IAmSusies. GatsbyGirl, it makes me think Tudor too.

katchoo1: That sun is gorgeous. Im so glad the near-disaster was able to be worked thru! Im looking forward to working on that pillowtop.

sundayafternoonhousewife: Nice pumpkin really makes me anxious for fall weather!

katchoo1 -- I've had no problems with the bleach pen. It hasn't discolored any fabric I've worked on (which has only been white). I've gotten it on embroidery floss as well and it comes through the wash like a champ. Not a bit of fading or discoloration.

katchoo1 - I have never had any problem with the bleach pen whitening to much.  Like gatsbygirl said I have gotten it on embroidery floss without any fading as well.  I also have never had any problems with the alcohol either.

Here are some pictures of what I added to AmyRacinRose's pillow front. She has a vintage Christmas theme going so I used the holiday cuties pattern from work basket. I hope she likes it! I used backstitch, chain stitch, and french knots.

sew~amy's theme is birds/sewing. I cheated a little. These chickadees are beading rather than sewing, but I think it still fits in with the intended spirit:

The birds came from a 1974 booklet of childrens animal "motifs." I improvised the rest.

I was going to add a supervising owl since I have plenty of time, but decided that I should show a little restraint.  Grin

Oh, and I'll add to the chorus that sew~amy's towel is dream to embroider on. It makes all of your stitches look so smooth and professional.
