Steampunk tie

Ok, so I don't wear ties, but it seems to me that in general they're very boring.  You can have stripes...or garfield.  Blech.   So I decided to try something new...



This tie was in part inspired by a little guy I have residing in my studio, Cubicle Bob. 



Bob is a financial systems consultant specialist project customer service...trainee.  Bob came with alot of stickers.
Bob always looks bored with his life, and his wardrobe, and it made me want to make Bob and all his cubie drones a more interesting office accessory, inspired by wonderful steampunk sensibilities...



Bob is now a happier office drone.  Yay Bob.



The tie was super easy to embroider on, it's just a matter of opening up the back to hide the embroidery, and securing it down in your hoop.  And then, you have a swank tie.  Ta daaaa.

Your tutorial for embroidered ties is fantastic.
If only I had someone to craft up a tie for!  Hubby doesn't wear one.. his dad is a plumber(got something for plumber's butt ) and my father is retired.. my brother does wear ties - I *think* but with him it is sooooo iffy!

That is so cool!!  What a snazzy idea.  I agree that ties are usually so bleeegh in general.. but I'd snatch that up if I saw it somewhere.

that's amazing! That's one tie I wouldn't feel awkward about giving as a gift (i usually hate giving ties and such, they're usually just so....tacky)

Absolutely magnificent!

My career is progressing to the point where I need to start wearing ties. I am not ready (nor old enough, 41) to start wearing the usual boring corporate noose.

Your Steampunk Tie is perfect. Black (of course), subtle design and somewhat subversive for the corporate bureaucracy I am about to enter.

Does anyone know where I could get something similar?
