As a teenager I loved the Nintendo game Adventure Island, so I was inspired to make this set of coasters in honour of the game. I still think the game's dinosaurs are absolutely adorable.

As you can see these are made with Perler Beads. I did a lot of Google searching to find pictures of the characters from the game then magnified those pictures until I could see the pixels. I've created a tutorial about how to get from a video game picture to a finished coaster, which can be viewed here: http://cthulhucrochet.blogspot.com/2008/07/perler-bead-coaster-tutorial.html and if you want to know more about the game Adventure Island, I wrote a bit of a description of it here on the blog: http://cthulhucrochet.blogspot.com/2008/08/adventure-island-coaster-set.html

Thanks for looking!

I've started my own crochet blog, have a look...http://cthulhucrochet.blogspot.com/

i love these!!! the dinosaurs are ridiculously cute in this game! I loved the game but i never played it on Nintendo, I played it on my handheld Sega console (i think it had a different name...but i'm not sure...)

btw, I did a random google search like, a week ago, because I want to make coasters for my residents (ummers, future RA and my theme is SO going to be super mario bros Cheesy) and how FUNNY that i found your tutorial! like, i'm not going to lie! I found it through SpriteStitch.com. So yes, how random Smiley
