Giant sugar packet? Sure, why not!

So, first, a little back story.

One of my recent favorite bands (Bidwell, I've posted craft projects on them before) has this song called "Sugar." At one of the last shows I went to, a couple of girls thought it would be fantastic to take a bunch of those tiny sugar packets and toss them at the stage and into the crowd during the chorus ("If you bring the love, I'll bring the sugar!"). The boys thought this was a marvelous idea (because unlike me, they weren't getting conked on the head with these things) and put out the word that we should always do this. I did not agree, because I don't enjoy putting my corneas at risk, and so decided to come up with an alternative.

Suge Night (as I have named him) is the result of about thirty seconds of thinking, heh, and weeks of procrastination. But here he is in all his sugary glory. I scanned in a box of sugar (that was fun to explain to my mother) to create the stencils for the C&H logo and the little ribbon that was on the box. I semi-stenciled the pink parts at the bottom, too. The "Now With" part is freehand, so you can igonore it; the "Bidwell" is the same font that is on their cd/myspace. It's filled with poly-fill and partly machine sewn, partly hand sewn.

I gave it to the guys on Thursday at Warped Tour. They were shocked as hell and immediately called it their favorite gift ever, and I believe Colby has claimed it as his own. They insisted on getting a picture, so here's an action shot of sorts, with 2/5 of the band:
