Because I just didn't understand the pattern for the real one. Cheesy

I've been trying to go through all my yarn and I had some extra LB Home Spun so I started making a shawl, stitch pattern is Lacy Diamonds. Then I ran out and had to buy more, haha! It's for my mom, part of her anniversary present...she's a shawl person but my husband was insisting I should keep it, or make another for myself. (no, not my thing)

It's super soft and comfy! The only thing that bugs me is it stretches out of shape if you really manhandle it...or just shake it a lot.

So, do you like my imitation?  Grin

Beautiful!  And my "real" clapotis stretches out of shape too.  Yours is dang close to the look of a "real" one and awesome because you made it up yourself.  Great job.

that's awesome that you just went with making your own. i remember having a tough time with the beginning of the pattern. the yarn was too slippery on the needles.  good for you! it's cute Smiley
