I have to agree with everyone else.  You made a master peice.  The detail is incredible, and I know from the cooking shows marzipan has a learning curve, but you don't see it with your cake.  I like that you kept the strawberry theme throughout.  Maybe I'll see if I have time to make my neice and all out cake for her third birthday.

Wow! thank you! it is really exciting to be on featured projects! Lizfd it is easier if you split up the work. I think if I had tried to do it all in one day I would have gone crazy. I molded the figures one night and then stored them in the fridge and then baked the cake the next night and then put it all together the next day. I guess it still takes a lot of time but it is easier to find slots of time than a chunk. lol I am glad the cake doesn't seem to show a learning curve, I definitely had lots of cracks  in the layer that covered the cake!! Though I tried to cover them all with detail and I "painted" the cake in a mix of dye, honey and whipped topping that took care of a lot of them. LOL I guess I would say my skills are in improvisation and less with material. :0)

It was sad to see the cake get cut but also a relief. I know that sounds silly but, I tend to be a perfectionist especially when it comes to making something for other people. It is almost a relief once its gone.

Thanks Again for all the fab comments!

I used to love Strawberry Shortcake as a kid and this cake brings back really good memories. It's just absolutely gorgeous! I love the colors and you did a smashing job on little Miss Strawberry herself!
