this was a lovely hat to knit. i started knitting the chunky version with debbie bliss cashmerino chunky but found that the yarn really seemed too thin for big needles. so, i made the aran-weight version with the chunky yarn, which made it ever so slightly slouchy. it's so cosy! in fact, it looks like a tea-cosy...

to get the right length, i had to stop half-way through the pattern repeat and knit one round decreasing stitches before the ribbing, so that the band would be nice and tight. i'm looking forward to wearing this one loads!
