Not sure if this idea's been posted before...? My boyfriend had a brilliant idea to make a picture frame out of an old Etch-A-Sketch, so of course we had to try. My dad eventually got obsessed with the idea of getting it pried apart, which is a lot harder than it sounds. Once we did that, we found a picture of Marilyn Monroe, cut it down to size, stuck it on with a glue stick, and put it back together. It was actually pretty easy once you get it apart. These were born to be picture frames.

WOW! Neat-o-rama! I especially like the picture choice, very very cool. My compliments to your boyfriend for the ingenious idea.

Seasick Sarah had a golden nose
Hobnail boots wrapped 'round her toes
When she turned blue all the angels screamed
They didn't know they couldn't make a scene.

She had to run, run, run run, run.

could a picture be put right on top of the screen? and left everything in it? i know if would be heavier this way but perhaps make it easier?

I LUV the way this looks! But I have a question: what did you do with the "stuff" inside? Is it toxic? I'm probably just paranoid but I though it would be good to ask.

Cute cute cute! Grin

Yea the stuff inside is non toxic, but luckily we had a newer model so when we finally got it cracked open nothing came out, there was like an extra sheet of plastic holding all the junk in. And you probably could just stick one onto the front, but I thought it'd be way cooler if we took it apart, hehe. And believe me, my bf has been told numerous times that hes a genius haha.

I bet that's why it was so messy!  we were trying to do it with one that was as old as we were (if not a little older).

Could you like, put it back together with the picture inside so it works, and then draw funny faces or whatever over the picture?   I think it would be really fun to be able to draw beards and moustaches on my friends  Smiley
