Hello everyone! I literally stumbled across this forum while seaching for tutorials. Hope you don't mind a newbie showing off some of her stuff?

This is a barrel bead necklace I just finished.

Here is a pendant I did. The nose is real black onyx.

This is a pendant I call "The Potter's Shard" I was trying to show that life can bloom from broken pieces.

This was a comissioned pendant. It has antique glass beads and fresh water pearls in it and I hand paint all my eyes.

Wind - the hole is through the length of this pendant.

Wow, the commission looks like something from an Aztec archeology dig, very gorgeous.

Wow, these are beautiful. I love the forms and the colors. Did you use regular clay for the more intricate forms? And what kind of paint did you use? I can't get such wonderful blending and smoothness with acrylics. Awesome job.  Grin

Wow.  I have never tried working with poly clay, and am always in awe of the wonderful stuff craftsters create with it!  How long have you been working with it?

These are all done in polymer clay. I use several brands so I really can't tell you which clay I used for each piece ...   Cheesy

I use an artist quality acrylic paint to antique my pieces. Most of the time it's a mix of black and browns with a tint of red to warm it up although I will use blues and greens to antique with as well. Really depends on the colors in the beads. I create the eyes in batches, bake for about 5 minutes then paint them. I bake them agin for another 10 minutes then, once they cool, I dip them in a polycrylic varnish to get a wonderful wet look. When I'm ready to use them I just push them in place and bake for the full amount needed for the piece with no problems.

Several years. I am a traditional sculptor, working in oil based clays so adding poly clays to my sculpting supplies was a natural progression for me.

Well, you may be a newbie to Craftster (Welcome, by the way...) but you certainly aren't anything close to a newbie when it comes to clay. You certainly have a knack at it, and all your creations are gorgeous. I really like that you use semi precious and precious stones, jewels, in your work... it's all really beautiful.  Grin

Heck, no - especially if all your stuff is anywhere near this good! Keep 'em coming!

But we have flamethrowers. And what this indicates to me, it means that at some point, some person said to himself, "Gee, I sure would like to set those people on fire over there. But I'm way too far away to get the job done. If only I had something that would throw flame on them."
