In the middle of the summer my brother gave me an awesome messenger bag. It's small and compact but still big enough for papers and such so I thought, "Why not make my new school backpack more unique than it already is?" And so I did! Grin

On the front:
I put on some badges from Mendocino, I sewed on a patch from my old kendo dojo, my lucky guitar pick, a large black button, I also fixed a big gaping hole from which a zipper used to be and sewed on a new zipper.

Oh! and I meant to make the stitching really uneven but 'twas kind of hard (surprisingly enough)

On the strap:
I sewed on various random buttons that my sister (ninja_poo) had running around.

And I had two buttons left over and decided to sew them in my ears
Cheesy

Genius! I've never seen a bag strap like that before, ever. You did a great job with the colors and placement.
I really dig the pins and other decor on the front, too.

So, you literally sewed the buttons through pierced holes?

Ninja_poo: No I am not and we have already established that.

AshBoBizzle: Thank you! Actually I was just grabbing random buttons out of my sister's button jar and box but I did try to keep the same colors from touching. And yes I did I got the idea from a girl at the fair but hers were actual earing and I thought it would be waaay cooler to make real ones.

Yep they're literally sewed to her ears - I got to do the honors XD (and don't worry, her ears were pierced long before I got near her with a needle).
