This is so strange!  Ok, the other day I was thinking, what the hell can I do with these newspapers (my dad leaves them all spread out across the floor which led me to think)?  Being a crocheter, I thought, hey, if I can reuse fabric and cut it into strips to create "yarn" then why not newspaper "yarn."  Now I know how to do it.  Thanks very much for this.  I couldn't be happier right now!

I have tried it right after I read this post (since we have newspapers for free in college, I got a nice pile to start )
But I didn't have such a weaving thing, so I grabbed a stick, made my first 10 cm and sticked them on the stick, and than I started rolling and rolling and rolling, very addictive !!! and fun !!! and black making ! (afterwords my fingers were as black as the newspaper )
it is really strong if you roll it really tight. Haven't tried ti knit or crochet withit, 'cause I first want a LOT of this !!

whoa!  That's cool... I usually stick to origami hats, but now I can crochet one!  Great find... thanks for sharing.

That would be a ridiculously fun project
