zillions of t-shirts

I have tons of t-shirts and i already lookd in the clothing reconn.. area and found awesome ideas! i made one all on my own but i just ran out of things to do with them! i cants throw them out bcuz... well just bcuz so any tips on what to do with them?

if you have dogs that like chewing/shredding, t-shirts may great poppet-style toys for them to shred.  They last a long time and the "stuffing" won't leave little piles of fluff all over your carpet.  Basically just cut off a sleeve, sew one end, stuff the rest of the shirt in and sew up the other side.  Voila!  Simple, but that'll entertain a puppy for a while!

T-shirt string! I can't remember exactly where I found the idea though good for knitters and crocheters

or if you sew use them as fabric. It just doesn't have to be clothes recons. Think cozies and stuffed animals..quilts.

It's basically a t-shirt rug.  I think it's darn cute.

Like Chelsea K said, use them as fabric.

If some of the shirts are cute, recon them. When you get sick of reconned clothes, use the cute shirts for a t-shirt quilt, backpack, purses, pillows, anything where you want to see the design.

For all those junk shirts or solid shirts, use the scraps. Rag rugs like radiationbaby said, or a shag rug like I'm doing. If you're daring, use the scraps in a crazy quilt (definitely on my to-do list). I've seen checkbook covers made out of scraps, I've seen knitted items, just about anything.

I like the book Generation T. It has lots of ideas, and instructions for a some of the things I mentioned above. I did a quick Amazon search and there were a bunch of t-shirt recon books. Have fun and good luck!

My older sister had the same perdicament: she had gazillions of t-shirts and hoodies left over from her high school basketball days, and couldn't bring herself to throw them out, even though they were ratty and holey.

So, instead, she cut out the graphics on each front/back of the shirt in standard sized squares. Then, she sewed them together to make a big, orange-black-and white quilt (those were the school's colors.)

Its quite cute! and, she gets to hold onto all those fun memories that she associated with her T-shirts.

t-shirts make excellent pillow cases - soft and comfy (i've done this with a few of them...)

on the recon page here i've seen t-shirt dresses, t-shirt skirts, t-shirt bikinis, t-shirt yoga pants... I figure if there's something missing in your wardrobe, you can probably make it from a t-shirt!

If they are small t-shirts, you can make reusable shopping bags out of them!  Just cut off the sleaves, cut the neck hole nice and big and sew along the bottom.  Voila!

make a quilt
