so...this skirt is made from an umbrella..it's pretty self explanatory...I took the nylon stuff off the umbrella and cut it to the length I wanted...then made a waistband out of some red fabric...anyway..pi ctures!

I forgot to take a before pic, but this is basically what it looked like:


so...I like it, I don't know that I'll really wear it a lot, but we'll see.

wow what a cool idea! , i wish i had thought of this when my favorite umberrella broke! (i realy liked the pattern on it, a dusky pink with small burgandy roses)

Genius recon idea! I recently saw an haute couture gown in a Discovery magazine that was made entirely from old umbrellas, the designer even used the metal spines as boning in the bodice.

I've been meaning to do this to my small patio style umbrella (I used it as a normal umbrella because more people can huddle under it than a regular umbie, it wasn't that large though, just a few inches longer and wider).
I love recons.
