I have this vision of my own elegant, low budget wedding, incorporating beatiful golds, dark reds and ivories. My dress is vintage ivory lace. I just realized that I'm leaving out my fiance, he is a diesel mechanic. I'd really like to incorpaorate that into the ceremony or the recption somehow without it looking tooally redneck. I'm not having a groom's cake so that's out. I'm thinking for the STD's I could say we're gettin hitched and put a pic of his truck hitch with us to the side in the distance. Other than that, I'm stuck. THey're all about blowing black smoke out their tailpipes, so, I thought maybe our diesel group could line up as we leave a blow smoke, but that's about all i've got. Anyone please help me!

I think your vision is good where it is.  I wouldn't bring it in too much or you're going to get really theme-y.

Her Save the Dates would have a picture of a potty with them standing next to it.  It could say, "We're taking the plunge!"  Cheesy!!  I think I'm on to something here, actually.

OH!  But I did think of another thing that I don't think would be too theme-oriented/cheesy.  You could the strings of cans and the traditional "Just Married" sign with colorful streamers to the back of his truck and take a picture of it for your thank you cards.  The picture could be all b&w 'cept for the streamers -- I think it would look neat. What about favors?  Don't they tend to be more playful?  Maybe favor boxes in your colors, but with cars or tool silhouettes?

Or you could even be more subtle and have some sort of metal decorations.  I bet that would accent deep red nicely.

We have this Craftsman barbecue set that looks like screwdriver handles.  Perhaps you could either buy that and use it to cut the cake, or get crafty with one of your fiance's welding tools and make your own cake server or toasting glasses with a twist.  http://reviews.sears.com/2328/00941629000P/reviews.htm
