Is there a way to sew it so that the threads of the fabric don't 'pull' and make it wrinkled along the seam?  I'm likely missing something very obvious here.   Embarrassed

be sure you're using a new needle of the correct size, and try adjusting your thread tension a wee bit...don't pull or push the fabric-use a gentle hand!

Use a fine needle (like a 70/10) and increase your stitch length and see if that helps.  If not, you may want to try using a bit of interfacing on your seams or place some tissue paper under the material (just be careful tearing it away when you're done sewing).
