Why do some people think being a parent is only something to do when it is convenient for you?

I'm in Kingwood.  There are several good thrift shops in my area: Family Time, which has a $5 bag sale on the last Wednesday of each month, and an ARC (Animal Rescue) that has a $5 bag sale on the 3rd Wed. of every month. Also HAAM in Humble is a good one.  Any good thrift shops in the Spring/Woodlands/Conroe area?

Kingwood is up N59, past Humble. Both of those thrift shops are on 494, which runs parallel to 59.  There's also a Goodwill in Humble where I sometimes find something pretty good, but I think their prices are kind of high.

Oh my gosh!  I grew up in Kingwood and just moved from there to San Antonio July of 2005...my parents and brother are still out there, and we go to visit frequently-my kids gotta see their Nana!  lol!  Actually I'll be there over Labor Day weekend.  (Well, frequently in the summer...not so frequently once school starts again.)

What village are you in?  I grew up in Bear Branch, moved away for a little bit (just to the other side of Houston) then moved back and bought a house in Hunter's Ridge in 2000.

I'm north of Houston...in Livingston.  We don't have any good shops here, but I've been to the goodwill in Lufkin and it's pretty cool.

Houston here as well! For those of you familiar with the Sandollar thrift store chain, they used to sell bales of clothing for about 5-10$ They are huge! I don't know if they still do this, but it is something to look out for.
