Why can't I reply to some threads?

There have been a few threads that I can't post replies to-- I click around and there is a "reply" icon on the boards before and after, but not all of them. Why is that?

They might be locked. Which threads are you having trouble with?

The one I wanted to reply to was called "green paisely book-bag-type-purse (or purse-type-book-bag!)" by angieshmangie
« on: February 10, 2005 07:31:03 PM ». There are no other replies to it either... I was just wondering

Out of curiosity, what is the purpose of locking topics? are they too off-topic? or are there too many responses?

We lock them for a variety of reasons.

-they could be getting too off-topic
-it could be a controversial topic
-we could not want it to get any bigger
-we could lock it until we know what to do with it



mostly, we lock instead of delete if there is information that we consider important in the thread.
