Using a forest green/hunter green stadium blanket, I machine embroidered some purchased designs on it with my mothers initials. (Blanket was for her... duh)

The open peony on the back 2 corners and a photorealistic peony with her initials on the center of the other end. I did it on the short sides because the blanket was for her chair.. and so the short end would show.

Here is the peony on the back 2 corners. The colors are a little more intense in the picture then in reality. I used Madeira Polyneon. The original design called for white center and purples but the peonies in our garden are fuscia/pinks with yellow centers, so I altered the colors.

Here is the center front design. The oval border around my mom's initials (CMS and done in Vermont font) is a two-tone "candlewicking" design. The candlewick turned out much nicer then expected.

Do you have a picture of the entire blanket. I'd like to see that.

Peonies are one of my all time favorite flowers. I do so miss them since I moved here to the islands. Here I have to settle for Hibiscus. When I go back to NJ in the spring I am always planting more peonies, but I never get to see them bloom. Maybe I should have my daughter do up some for me on her machine. Smiley
