so.
my youth group is richer than all get out.
that's why the popular rich kids go to it.
but i go too, me and my poor self.

so they give out shirts at like, everything.

i took last year's shirt, a black one with ephesians 6:11 on it.
and cut it up.
and made a purse with it and some leftover straps and denim.
and then added I AM LOVED pins from helzberg's.

it took me two and a half hours, and it's pretty decent for my almost non-existent sewing skills.
it's the second thing i've sewn.
i'm super proud of it.

i went to the VBS at that church, and 3 people asked me to make them one out of jeans and a shirt if they paid me.
Cheesy

so, here goes.
comments and constructive criticism welcome.

thanks for looking!!!

I think you did a great job sewing, and I would totally be hitting you up for one too, if I were at vbs.
Nice work !

Very cool! I can't offer any constructive criticism, as I don't sew, but if I were involved I'd hit you up for one of these, too. It also looks like the perfect size. Smiley

oh gosh guys!
you make me blush!
i was so surprised to see 7 comments.
:]

rorbot, brushfirefaeries, and llisaredd - that makes me want to make more!
Cheesy

brushfirefaeries - it's about 12.5 x 14 inches, and the strap is about 36 inches minus 1 inch per sewing side, so about 34 inches.

sunnytuesday - my youth group leader is like, "molly! make me one with an old youth group shirt!"
i'd definitely LOVE to see yours if you make some.
do they have verses and stuff?

bluelady91 - Cheesy
my mom thinks so too.

rebeccalynnis and hippiejo74 - thanks you guys!

you all make me feel like i'm getting better with my sewing!
Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
you have no idea how much feedback, even constructive criticism, helps me in my journey to be a better sewer.

thank you all SO SO SO much!!

Cheesy

have a good day guys!

I've been making tons of these style purses -tshirts into purses- they actually turn out really well if you line it enough so it isnt super floppy. But I line mine with old jeans and it works well...Good job on yours!
