so i love everything ever made by craftster shesxautomatic ( check it out!:   http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=50528;sa=showTopics),
and she makes the most beautiful dresses from the pattern New Look 6557, so i decided i had to try it. it was my first time ever using a pattern, and it was actually way easier than i ever thought it would be. my mother has always discouraged me from using patterns because they are supposed to be too difficult for me or something, so anyways i have always had this irrational fear of patterns. but yeah, this was way easy. i love it. the only issue i had was sizing, because i have a small bust and thick waist, so i had to make the top a size smaller than the rest of the dress. but i love it! and i will wear it all the time.

the fabric i got from a creative reuse store, i got 4 yards of it for $2. i love it.

and look what my sewing machine did to this pin! i have never seen anything like it:

I like how the red pops against the fabric, really adds to the overall design.

The pin thing happens to me all the time!  Embarrassed And usually my needle breaks... So I started removing the pins just before they go under the sewing foot. Hope it won't happen again for you!

Nice dress by the way!  Cheesy

awww yay! i LOVE 6557, best pattern ever!  Grin
good call on the red trim!

and pins + sewing machines = bad! don't sew over pins, it'll mess up the timing on your machine and cost $$$ to fix Cry learned that one the hard way.
