TUTORIAL TIME!Now this tutorial gives information on how to make your hat just like I did
there are many other ways of making the hat, some of this information is completly useless
Materials: White fleece, black fleece, pink fleece, white thread, pink thread, black thread, various round things, small amount of stuffing, one of those pens that washes the ink out in water real easy, needle, material scisors, printer and internet connection, anything else I forgot
Get the shape for the baseball hat from wild things *that thing in the blog downloadable from
www.wildginger.com I added two inches around the head, cos I have a big head, and two inches on the band length, cos I wanted it to be taller
Cut out six
Sew together
Realise that it looks like one of them jewish hats things,
do an impresonation of an old jewish man so bad that if you were on tv you would get sued
Decide how big you want the band at the bottom to be
Make a rectangle for the band, twice the hight you want yoru band to be plus one inch, and the length around your head plus two inches
*I only made it one inch larger around my head too and came so extreamly close to running out of material its not really funny*
Sew the band on, right sides together
Decide again how big you want your band to be now that you can see it
Fold the band under and sew
Trim off any excess
Findind something of appropreate roundness for the ears and cut a circle
Cut the circle in half
Fold the halfs in half so you have a quarter circle
Sew along the straight edge and turn inside out and you have a little kitty ear
Find something of appropreate roundness *smaller than base of the ear, really important
Trace circles of this size were you want the ears to be on the wrong side of the hat
Make sure that you have these circles in the right spot by both measuring *duh* and by putting your hat on inside out and asking someone if they look like they are in the right spot
Headbutt them to get their attention if possible
Cut a small circle in the middle of the circle you drew then cut a series of snips up to the line
Sew the ear to the hat along the line
Realise that your little kitty ears look floppy and need stuffing
Forget to take photo of this step
Stuff the ear and hold the stuffing in by hand stitching a scrap bit of fleece to the underside
Lose your secound little kitty ear
Look for your secound little kitty ear
During your looking walk to close to the kitchen,
Forget what you are doing and make youself a sandwich and straweberry milk
Eat
Resume looking for and find little kitty ear
Make secound little kitty ear just the same
Wear your hat
Headbutt someone if possible *it's just fun*
Take two photos of yourself wearing the hat with ears attached, one photo with the hat more visable but you looking like you were in the middle of a two hour lecture on dental higene, another with hat slightly less visalbe but you looking fantastic
Post the picture of you looking fantastic
Make the little flappey things by sewing two bits of felt together then turning inside out
Rember to take little snips out around the corner so it does not look too lumpy
Sew the little hearts on with pink thread in the top thread and white thread in the bobbin
take more care with this than you did with your last english exam, this is important
Wear hat
Cut out little eyes
Stand in front of mirror and spend five minutes trying to find the right spot for the eyes to sit
Give up and get your mother to put the eyes on *she has only seen the photo of the AFK once*
Marvel when she puts them in just the right spot
Sew the eyes on with black thread in the top thread and white thread in the bobbin
Wear hat
Become extreamly proud of yourself
Headbutt someone if possible
