I made a dozen sock monkeys, really, and I gave them all away! I let my daughters customize theirs, my youngest has a sock monkey that has no arms or eyes per her request. *rolls eyes*
but I have only two pics of the ones I completed

First is my gun monkey that I gave to my friend angie, her cat....is not to enthused about this new addition to their tiny family.

and here are the others, some are missing eyes. I took this late night, early morning.......and please disregard the fact I am a total perv (LOL)

the toe sock monkey was grabbed up by my sociology teacher before i even had him stuffed! She was like I WANT THAT! haha

the pink and black one has a toe sock mohawk and skirt. I modified the original idea of using the heel of the sock as the mouth, instead I cut off the end of the sock(as in the opening of the sock) sewed it shut and BAM, awesome monkey lips!

My fav is the gun totting one with a bandanna - very cool!  A little nuts too taking on a kitty like that.

I just made my first sock critter last night / today.  A rabbit-esque moster.  Now I'm addicted - I can see why you've done so many.  Heading down to the op-shop on Wednesday for more cheap socks - Yay!

I couldn't resist keeping at least one though.  Do you have plans for one of your own?

are there any good sites to help sock monkey beginners?   Or does anyone have any suggestions for getting started?
