Perfect Christmas gift for a friend with two kitties?  The cat bed from SnB!
Except I hate working with the fun fur yarn that's in the pattern, and I had some old acrylic bright red yarn, and this friend loves red...so the Ring of Fire cat bed was born!

Please excuse the crap photos; it's dark and rainy here, so no natural light, and I was too lazy to adjust the lights on my table to better suit the intense red!   Shocked

I used two strands of red held tog to knit the bottom; they are slightly different shades, so it looks kind of heathery up close.  For the side piece I found this great chenille/bobbly stuff for $0.97 a skein at JoAnn's!  I also stitched the side down all around to make it a bit sturdier instead of just every 3" like the pattern said.  This pattern was very quick, easy, and fun; I hope she likes it!!

And a close-up of the fancier yarn:

That looks great and very fluffy, our cats would love to sleep in it.  Cheesy

I'm from Germany and do not speak English very well - if i say something stupid, please tell me. Thanks!

I love the fact that it's called the Ring of Fire Cat Bed.  Makes me laugh.  Great work!
