I decided to try my hand at bookmaking. I think I did pretty well. Excuse the geeky subject matter, though. It's for a Craft-along with a theme. And it's also not exactly done, either. There are still a few pages that the hubby's begging to be made.

It's 32 sheets of paper, meaning 64 pages front and back. Hand-sewn using the Coptic stitch with a handmade cover.

Sorry for some of the blurriness. I'm experimenting making a homemade lightbox that was apparently too small so I had to hold the camera. I've had the shakes all day.

Thanks!

I didn't post any of the blank pages, but there are quite a few. I'm still deciding whether to use it as a journal or just put in tons of Hitchhiker's blurbs.

I'm glad the whale and bowl of petunias got special mention.  They're just about my favorite thing in the whole story, aside from Vogon poetry, of course.

I HAD to put the whale and bowl in there. It just wouldn't be Hitchhiker's without them. ^_^

And the contest I'm entering it into was for obscure August holidays. I chose Bad Poetry Day. You can see why I thought of Vogons first.  Grin

Thanks guys! For my first shot at any kind of book binding, I think it turned out well. There's only one swerve on the entire binding. Woooo! And coptic binding is probably my favorite hand sewing technique ever. I refuse to hand sew fabric, but I don't think I'd mind paper more often. hahaha
