I want to make something similar to this:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=239676.msg2636051#msg2636051 & this (lol, soz for the wonky pic I'm tired as 1-2-3!!!!):

For when I go back to school but a little shorter..... I really like the shirt underneath idea (i'm talking about on the first page, not the third page) but I just can't figure out what type of skirt to attach (so it'll be a mini dress). I'm probably going to wear some jeans or leggings under it...
So far I've come up w/ a tulle skirt (not too sure about this one, seems to "dress-up" to me) or a short circle skirt. I really want it to be casual and I am FREAKING OUT because I have to get this done by like 3pm (it's 3:45 am right now...yikes!)

What type of skirt should I make? (Pics if possible, please)

The tube-ish part is going to be baroque satin in this color: http://www.joann.com/joann/shop/shop_tszoom.jsp?path=http://63.210.199.180/08/26/9/82696.jpg.fpx ...Tell me if you think one of these colors look better if you think so (or if I should use a different fabric...I'm open to ANY suggestions): http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat2964&PRODID=prd7205#select ....

that's my prom dress, lol

I used a half-circle skirt for the underskirt/petticoat and just bunched up the tulle over it to make it poofy.

AND i second the purple. if you decide to not give up, that is
