This is a mexican Tětere (puppet) I made for NerdyCrochetGal in the IYP 9 swap, and wanted to show you what are we call puppet here in my country. It has some mistakes because it is my first tětere, but I enjoyed too much making it, so I probably will try it again  Smiley

she has plastic head and hands (that I painted), and wood feet, the rest of her body is a wood stick and fabric, I made all her outfit, her hat is fomy that I heated with the iron and gave it that form with fingers.

here she is, showing her undies.

and a close up

sorry for the blurry pictures, I took it with the cell phone, here is a bonus video where she is dancing

Brilliente !! Id love to have one of these! I especialy like the youtube vid . Is a cartrina a special doll for el dia de muertos?  I find it interesting that this holiday and the europian counterpart Samhain- now Halloween were both celebrated at simular times even at a time in history when South America had no contact with europe.
Any way beautifull beautifull puppet!

She's awesome! In the USA she'd be called a marionette because of the strings. I love all the wonderful details, and I can't believe she's your first!
