I agree with everyone.  These are great photos.  I hope he continues. I also like your post production work. What's the rule of threes? I should know this but I'm drawing a blank.

The rule of thirds... basically if you graph your visual area into thirds and plot your focal point into one of those 3rds it is more visually interesting or appealing than if you stick it right smack dab in the middle.

That sounds confusing... I'm sure there is a better explaination.

That made perfect sense.  I took another look at the pictures.  I can see it now.

Thanks so much for all of your nice words. I've sat my kiddo down and read through them all with him and he was pretty chuffed with himself. I really hope he sticks with it but I'm also afraid of pushing him too much. I tried passing him the camea several times this weekend with little luck. I think I'll just keep it within eyeshot and if the fancy strikes again (which I hope to the gods it does) it, and I, will be there.

I just joined craftster and this is the first thing I looked at. Incredible! I can't believe he is 5 and hitting angles like that. Such amazing intuition! Love it.

These are downright AMAZING! He has inspired me to get out and use my camera! The first and the third (especially the third, it speaks volumes to me for some odd reason ...) are, just ... beyond words!

That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without words
And never stops at all.
