Love, love, LOVE the roses!

Cry  I got a little weepy at your mention of Bette Midler's "The Rose", though.  I swear, no one I know will admit to even having knowledge of the song's existence!  We played it at my dad's funeral as Mom and I were walking down toward the casket.  We were to place red roses in the casket and stand there (looking mournful, I suppose) until the song ended.  Great plan, but whoever was running the CD player didn't switch it off soon enough, so Darling Bette went right into "Miss Otis Regrets"!!   Shocked   My whole family and I laughed out loud.  Papa would have appreciated it.

Anyway, I freakin' love the roses, particularly the black one.  I think I'll make some in black and purple!  Whee!!!   Grin

just wanted to add that i made one out of electrical tape which is black. It isnt nearly as sticky which isnt the best but it is really thick and makes the rose look fuller. Yes my black rose i am in love with...I always pull it out of my duct tape purse when walking in the mall and smell it. I guess people think its a real rose. But then when I put it up to my brothers face he always goes "It still smells like tape" and thats around the time their expressions change lol...not many craftsters around where I live.
