This my first attempt at making anything more complicated than a wallet out of felt, so be gentle! I had loads of green and cream felt, so the first thing I could think of to make was a turtle.

Closer up on his face:

His rear end and little tail Smiley:

The patches on his back are a little wonky because I mixed up the pieces as soon as I cut them out. Oops! I named him Maturin after the turtle guardian from the Dark Tower series by Stephen King and he's probably going to my boyfriend as soon as he gets back from his trip (he's a DT fan as well).

Oh, and I should also mention that I free-handed the whole thing. (I don't use patterns very often, I get bored with them!)

Comments appreciated.  Wink

It seems that different people have an idea of what I am, and what I should be. And then there's me.

So cute!  I love the little nubby tail on this guy!  (That's my favorite part on my own turtles as well...)  Grin  You should add a pattern on it's belly!

Thanks everybody. I had planned on embroidering little ridges across his stomach like real turtles have, but I got lazy.  Grin Maybe I'll add that before my bf comes home.

Thanks again!
