Lovestoexperiment, thanks for letting me know about my swaps.  Somehow, I didn't get notice of the gallery pictures of my swap, and wasn't even aware that they were posted.  MaRut is a fantastic organizer: completely on top of things.  She gave me immediate feedback.  In one of my other swaps, the organizer didn't give feedback until both partners received.
You are right, now I will be able to do this one.  However I'm getting a little nervous about this.  I just saw someone else's  Black Doll and it was terrific.  I hope I can do nearly as well.

Eeeep!  There's a picture of a Black doll in this forum?  Where?!?  Or should I not ask (in case I'll be nervous as well Wink).  Nah, I'll bite.  Where may I find a picture of this cutie? Smiley

I took a better photo of it (no offense whatsoever to sarahmakes - her cutie pies are truly the focus of that picture! Wink ):

I added the little lace skirt and I painted the face differently.  Also, I resized the pattern to make it a bit larger.  It was fun to make!

The legs are the same length in real life... they look pretty drastically different in that photo.  Ha.

And the face was painted with regular craft acrylics.

Thanks!  I made her for a 17 month old, so I wanted her to look happy, hence the arms up like she's cheering.  And also she's bright and chipper.  Wink

Jenicat's doll is much beloved now. I also think that the arms up look like she's cheering, but Rebekah insists that she is dancing ballet. I'm planning to start making crochet dolls after my Christmas gifts are finished, but after seeing this doll, I checked out the tutorial and now I want to make them. I think even I could sew this! (But I did go to five stores before I found flesh-colored yarn, so maybe I should stick to the crochet dolls--I'd hate to waste all that work!)

Do some of each, Sarah!  I bet whatever you do, they will look awesome.  Smiley  Rebekah is cute.  Haha.  She could be dancing ballet... ooh, I should have put her in a tutu.  Smiley

Sorry to say, but I won't be able to organize this swap for a long while.  I've had some family things come up that I have to tend to.  I would love it if some others could organize it though as I'd still LOVE to do the swap ...... So if you are interested in organizing let me know and I can PM you the questionaire I've been working on.  If no one is able to take over organizing, then this swap won't be happening for some time ..... so sorry!  I do hope someone is able to organize it!
