this is actually a pattern kit from an english company called gossypium who make pre-printed pattern pieces on organic fair-trade cotton.

i actually started this last year but finally finished hemming and binding the arm holes tonight - its the first thing iv properly completed from a pattern and i am so so proud of myself because it only has minimal errors Cheesy

hands on hips?!

you can see the length of the dress here, with pleat detail. the bird fabric is slightly ruined by the pleats but hey, who doesnt love a pleat? i also added the belt because it was a little boxy

this is a closer look at the front, with inbuilt collar - i got so confused by the instructions and just went with my instinct and then lo, a collar appeared! one of my sewing highlights!

this is a poorly executed over the shoulder shot of the back, with tie

c&c wanted - what do you guys think?

Wow, that dress is pretty, and I can't get over how you resemble your avatar.  I absolutely love how the materials go together.

I have a split personality, because you guys crack me up.  AND The best day I ever had was TODAY!

I  love the fabric, and you did a great job. I wish I was better using patterns.
